Büro Ö-quadrat was founded in 1999 as a consulting office specialising in energy economics and energy policy. Since then, we have successfully completed over 100 projects and studies.

Büro Ö-quadrat is an economically and politically independent consulting office with a focus on projects that integrate ecological, economical and technical aspects.

Our work emphases on both problem-solving and practical implementation.

We collaborate with notable institutes and organizations such as the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Wuppertal Institute, German Energy Agency (dena), International Solar Energy Society (ISES), Öko-Institute, International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), Climate Alliance/ Alianza del Clima e.V., and UNEP Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production.

 

Dieter Seifried (Dipl.-Ing., Dipl.-Volkswirt)

Dieter Seifried is the founder and director of Büro Ö-quadrat. He has taught at the University of Freiburg in the field of energy efficiency and political framework between 2001 and 2015. Before then, Dieter worked as a research scientist and project coordinator at the Öko-Institute (1983 - 1999), where he specialised in climate compatible policy for the energy sector, least-cost planning, contracting, and renewable energy. Dieter is currently a member of the board of administration in ADEV wind power CORP.

 

Dr. Sebastian Albert-Seifried

Sebastian Albert-Seifried is the head of the energy efficient household appliances section. After obtaining a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge in the area of solar cells, Sebastian worked on several international research projects (incl. EU Framework Programme and UK EPSRC) in the related field. Following Cambridge, he worked in the multinational business consulting firm Deloitte (2014-2016). He joined Büro Ö-quadrat in 2017.

 

Energy-efficient Household Appliances

From autumn 2017 onwards, Büro Ö-quadrat will be publishing the consumer information brochure “Especially efficient home appliances” and managing the associated website: www.spargeraete.de. The aim of the project is to inform households about energy and water saving home appliances. We are delighted to carry on this work that has been started by Klaus Michael over 25 years ago.
